02/21/24 - exciting update, or?
Yesterday she arrived at the treehouse minutes before dawn, then alternated between perch and nest for a couple hours, followed by an all day snoozefest. She stirred about 20 minutes before climbing up to the perch, which put here there one minute before sunset. She stayed there for about 15 minutes before launching into the dark night.
This morning in literally a second or two, it all changed. For the first time this season, just before dawn two owls were seen visiting the house at the same time. This could be them just checking on it together (*checks boxes - swank loft space, room for youngin’s, view, food, water, bark camouflage), or maybe one final look before signing the lease, who knows. The screen grab from the inside cam shows the brief moment there was one on the perch, one below in the nest. The video shows one of them zipping by a couple minutes later and that might be a second pair of glowing eyes in the background.
Then it changed again, as they both left and no owl is inside resting for the day. Maybe he was taking her around to all the potential nesting sites for her final selection.
